Farage accused of "making it up as he goes along"

The Conservative party have tonight released an online poster which shows the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) Leader Nigel Farage making two contradictory statements on the National Health Service. The comments however were nine months apart. In January the Conservatives claim UKIP Leader said, reported in the Telegraph, that it would be "ridiculous" to protect the NHS from spending cuts. They now claim Nigel Farage has released a poster in the Heywood and Middleton by-election saying "only UKIP will protect our NHS".

Responding a Labour source said: "It does look like Nigel Farage is being two-faced over the NHS. But its clearly crocodile tears from the Tories as they are a party who said before the election 'no top down re-organisation of the National Health Service' then after the election, with the Liberal Democrats, past the Health & Social Care Act. The Tories are experts on being two-faced hypocrites over the NHS so really shouldn't complain when UKIP copy them. It is clear that only Labour will protect the NHS, starting off by scrapping the Tory, Lib Dem, Health and Social Care Act."

UKIP's Communications 'chap', London, Gawain Towler was asked for a comment but declined to answer
