Union attack on Ed

The Labour party leader, Ed Miliband, is under serious pressure from within his own party. The General Secretary of the UNITE Union, which by coincidence is Labour's biggest backer, Len McCluskey has launched an attack on Mr  Miliband stating Ed Miliband has set Labour on a path towards "destruction and "certain election defeat"

Mr McCluskey also lambasted Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls saying Ed Balls' sudden weekend embrace of austerity and the government's public sector pay squeeze represents a victoey for discredited Blairism and the expense of the party's core supporters". The Leader of the RMT, Bob Crow, has said that he agrees completely with Len McCluskey's comments.

Labour Deputy Leader Harriet Harman has said "It's simply not the case that we're accepting the government's spending cuts - that couldn't be further from the truth". Mr Miliband told the BBC "Len McCluskey is entitled to his view but he's wrong"
