| Andrew Mitchell arriving in Downing St yesterday assuming he didn't call the officer with a machine gun a "pleb"! |
Mr Mitchell's position is now untenable with Tory MPs being open in their dissent against him. How can he try and give a backbencher a good "going over" without the said backbencher telling him to go away - but probably more colourful language though.
Mr Mitchell was also dealt another blow when Sir Bruce Forsyth, last Friday, when he made a joke before the Olympic gold medalist Victoria Pendleton was due to dance. He said: "Victoria came to me earlier and said Bruce have you got any advice for me. I replied yes when you arrive at television centre on your bike if the security man asks you to get off and walk through the side entrance - don't call him a pleb".
David Cameron needs to act, well he should of acted three weeks ago when the incident happened, and tell Mitchell to go. If he wont resign then he must be sacked, if Mitchell is sat on the Government front bench when the House returns on Monday then it'll be an open goal for the Labour party. Cameron has had a bounce following his conference speech he has momentum he must now do the right thing and sack Andrew Mitchell in the morning.
