UKIP support slumps in latest European election poll

The United Kingdom Independence Party has seen its support in a poll for the European elections slump by five percent. UKIP who many of their activists and many media commentators have been suggesting that the party could win the European elections in 2014. The latest YouGov poll shows that UKIP are down five points and in fourth place.

The poll also shows that support for a referendum on Britain's relationship with the EU in the next few years stands at 58% opposition to it is 23%. Also 59% of the people think that David Cameron is right to try and negotiate a new British relationship with the EU - 21% think he is wrong. And on a how would people vote in a referendum on Britain's EU membership 40% would vote to stay in the EU, 34% would vote to leave the EU, 5% would not vote and 20% don't know how they'd vote.
