David Cameron goes on the campaign trail in Eastleigh

The Tory Leader David Cameron travelled to Eastleigh today to support the Tory candidate Maria Hutchings. Mr Cameron went with Mrs Hutchings to B&Q’s UK headquarters, to take questions about local issues from the 800 staff gathered there. Mr Cameron surprised the audience as he pledged his devotion to IKEA. Afterwards the Prime Minister also joined Mrs Hutchings campaigning on the streets of Eastleigh, knocking on doors and leafleting in the local area. Mr Cameron said: “It was great to join Maria on the campaign trail today. She is a great campaigner who would be a strong local champion for the people of Eastleigh.”

Conservative candidate Maria Hutchings said: "I would like to say a massive thank you to B&Q for having the Prime Minister and I here today. It’s fantastic that one of Britain’s most recognised and most successful businesses is based right on our doorstep. B&Q isn’t just a major job and wealth creator for Eastleigh, but for the whole of Hampshire. I will be an MP that you can trust, that will truly understand your constituency and put your issues first. A good voice for you in Parliament."
