Rebel Conservative MP Dr Sarah Wolleston took to twitter this morning to say that John Hayes, who was moved from the the Department for Energy & Climate Change to Deputy Chair of the Conservative Party last week, Sam Gyimah who is the Prime Minister's PPS and Dr Therese Coffey, who is a liaison between the front and backbenches, are on payroll vote. Saying "why does a liaison role require this?" Continuing Dr Wolleston tweeted: "Wouldn't it be better to have all ministerial liaison with back benchers done by MPs who can also speak openly on behalf of constituents?"
Well Dr Wolleston may have a point, Rob Wilson who is PPS to the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt tweeted that "I see Guido has a piece about the #BBC's interview with IDS." following it with "tinyurl.com/cp2nso" which is a link, which we've ensured doesn't work from here, to a porn site. A Conservative source on being asked about it said "It was a mess-up with the tinyurl creator".
