Nominations have closed for the Newark by-election, the by-election was triggered by the resignation of the former Conservative MP Patrick Mercer after he was caught in a Panorama sting. The confirmed candidates are:

Roger Helmer - United Kingdom Independence Party
Robert Jenrick - Conservative Party
David Kirwan - Green Party
Michael Payne - Labour Party
Dick Rodgers - Common Good
David Watts - Liberal Democrat Party
Lee Woods - Patriotic Socialist Party
The by-election will take place on 5th June 2014
