BNP launch their local elections campaign

The British National Party have announced they have 92 candidates standing in county council elections this year, plus another seven in unitary authorities, and one standing in a borough council by-election that falls on the same day. launching their campaign party leader Nick Griffin said "Our activists are out campaigning in their wards on a daily basis. The British National Party is distributing literature door-to-door and is involved in intensive canvassing. We are fighting a high-profile campaign. This year the Party took a conscious and collective decision to concentrate on better areas where it had a pool of activists and a good candidate. By concentrating our forces and resources we hope for good results".

Launching an attack on the United Kingdom Independence Party Mr Griffin said: "We don’t fear UKIP. We are confident and up for a fight. We are taking them on in many areas and their activists seem thin on the ground. The British National Party is a lot more entrenched in communities than our opponents understand. We are part of local communities, we live and work there and we care passionately about what happens within them. We are fighting our campaigns on local issues but we are also highlighting why we are different from all the establishment parties – and that includes UKIP."

Concluding Mr Griffin finished by saying: "The British National Party will never go away. We are undefeated and still on the field of battle. You will never break our spirit and we will win because losing is not an option for our people."
